Legend of the Seas–May 7, 2014–Olden, Norway

A different fjord today. More rural. Another big walk ahead, up to a glacier this time.
The original  plan was to take the local bus. After waiting for a bit with our group of friends, I asked a local if we were waiting in the right place. She told us that she didn’t think the bus had started running. It was too early in the season. Sure enough, we checked with the information office. The bus doesn’t start until June 1. We ended up getting a rather expensive taxi ride (8 sharing but we paid individually!) but it was still a lot cheaper than anything else on offer. Probably a lot more comfortable too.
It was an hour hike up to the glacier, but a beautiful walk.

It was darn cold. I’m glad I had my pole too

Not as spectacular as some other glaciers we have seen, but worth the walk, just for the gorgeous scenery

This place is a popular camping and hiking area. We liked this stop.
Tomorrow Bergen, our last port
