May 30 Zagreb

May 30
How sad we all were after such a beautiful day yesterday, to find we wake to pouring rain. So it was, armed with coats and umbrellas, we followed our guide to all the sights of Zagreb.

The parks, buildings, churches and squares were visited as we walked a circular route around the city.

The other disappointment was the fact that it was a public holiday for Corpus Christi. However, this was also to our advantage because the streets were clear of traffic and for the most part people - everyone was at mass. Tough on those that were hoping to do some shopping during our free time in the afternoon.

At the end of the tour we headed for a cafe for coffee then paid a visit to the Museum of Broken Relationships. This fascinating and mostly quirky museum has to be seen to be believed. Definitely a fun thing to do on a wet afternoon in Zagreb.

We returned to the hotel and had a bit of a rest before heading out again for an early dinner. We move on very early in the morning for our journey to Sarajevo.

We did enjoy our visit to Zagreb. Here is some of what we saw.

Lots of lovely parks in this city
