June 4
Leaving Dubrovnik in warm sunshine we
started our journey up the Adriatic coast to Split.
It was good to have a leisurely day after
Montenegro. We stopped at a fruit vendor and everyone bought some fresh fruit
from the river delta known for its fruit production, especially mandarins. Then
we continued to Maskarska where we had a leisurely lunch, before continuing on
to Split.
What a wonderful city. Just when we thought our tour couldn't get any better we were treated to a tour of the Diocletian
palace. This amazing UNESCO world heritage site was shown to us in detail by
our excellent local guide.
Rome without the crowds!!! Well sort of.
Loved it.
