Legend of the Seas–day 4

April 4
Today we were due to dock in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at 11, but that was put back to 12pm. It did not affect us as we were doing our own thing with some American friends who knew the port from a previous visit.
As with many of these tourist towns there are the tourist resorts with their own private beaches and there is a more traditional area (in this case called the old town) where tourists will visit but there is a more local element. This is where we headed. We shared a taxi and after the complimentary massage driving over the cobbled streets, we were dropped near the start of the promenade along the beach.
Lined with bars, restaurants and shops this was a lovely walk with lots happening to entertain visitors. The frigate birds were also providing entertainment, soaring and swooping over head where some fishing boats were moored.
As is natural, as we are in Mexico, there were lots of very Mexican souvenir shops. We bought a small souvenir and then found a bar which, being upstairs provided a lovely view over the beach.
