The rain had set in overnight. Possibly just as well we were not in Whistler for the day today.
Pouring rain, towering mountains covered in birch, cedar and other evergreen trees, raging rivers called creeks, the water boiling its way downstream. This was our experience during the first part of our day long drive to Blue River.
The rain eased and we found a convenient pull off for a coffee stop. By now the rain had stopped but was still threatening.
We were driving through the Fraser Valley, one of British Columbia's major river systems. Not overly beautiful but dramatic nonetheless.
Our lunch stop was at Savona where we found a picnic ground overlooking a lake. Very pleasant. The rain was still holding off when we pushed on to Kamloops.

Quite surprised how large Kamloops was, we pressed on to Clearwater. If the weather had been better we would have ventured into Wells Gray Provincial Park. Instead we just stopped for fuel and a coffee at a little cafe which was attached to the primary business of white water rafting. The featured video playing on a big screen TV would be a tempting invitation.
We topped up the tank and continued on our way to Blue River, our overnight stop. Managed to capture the view from the motel, before the weather set in. It would look gorgeous in better conditions
