We've arrived

I am very sad to say our holiday has begun with some devastating news. Ian's Auntie Margaret(who you will recall celebrated her 93rd birthday recently) passed away when we were en route to Seattle. We will always cherish the months we have spent with her most recently.

Needless to say this news did somewhat upset our planned routine to sleep on arrival in Seattle, but we are managing.

We collected our rental car this morning with no dramas and headed north on the I5 towards the border with British Columbia. We left behind the city and traffic and travelled through some very pretty scenery with lots of hills and trees.

However, after a fairly painless border crossing (about 30 minute wait) we hit serious traffic congestion heading into Vancouver. We knew this was likely so patiently crawled towards the tunnel which was now in contraflow.

Sydney ain't got nothing on this!!!!

We made it to our accommodation and have settled in very nicely.

I hope you like the pics  which, to save time today, I shall simply post at the end.
