A walk in the rain

The forecast was more promising than the delivered weather for our monthly walk. However, undeterred 14 regular walkers met at Circular Quay for the ferry ride to Woolwich with another member meeting us there.

I expect we left the bus driver wondering what such a group was doing out and about with the clouds gathering. A few surprised local passengers also joined the bus en route to Hunters Hill where we got off ready to descend on an unsuspecting cafe.

By the time we had finished our coffee the rain was about to descend and it was not long before the hoods and brollies were up. It was fortunate that this walk was along mainly urban streets with only a short section where we were walking through parkland.

It is a lovely area to walk around, however. Beautiful homes lovely water views and a very historic dock area.

It was here we saw two recent Sydney to Hobart yachts being overhauled, one of which was none other than the winner, Wild Oats.

The City is in the centre of the shot!!

After a super lunch at the Woolwich Pier Hotel, we walked back down to the Woolwich ferry wharf for our trip back to Circular Quay. The City had all but disappeared in the gloomy clouds, but we'd had an enjoyable day.
